Meet our Mistress of Melody – Maisie Humphries
Vocal Director | she/her
🎤✨

Maisie is a graduate of PPA drama school and a total musical theatre queen 👑. Her obsession with SIX started when she saw the show on its first UK tour with her sister—cue non-stop Megamix singalongs ever since!

Since graduating, Maisie has taught singing, dance, and drama at various performing arts schools, while also performing professionally—most recently starring as Cinderella in a magical panto season ✨.

She’s passionate about helping performers find their voice, grow in confidence, and most importantly, have fun doing it.

When she’s not in the rehearsal room, she’s a proud cat mum 🐱, book lover 📚, and full-on Swiftie 🎶.

Maisie is SO excited to join the SIX: Teen Edition realm and can’t wait to slay the stage with this fierce cast!

Dynamic, driven, and endlessly creative, Ellie is a passionate Musical Theatre performer and teacher who lives and breathes the stage 🎭✨. As a performer herself, she understands the magic of live theatre and brings that same energy and insight into every rehearsal room she enters 🌟.

With a flair for choreography and a love for storytelling, Ellie thrives on shaping new productions, guiding students, and watching their confidence and talent shine under the spotlight 💃🎶.

Outside the theatre, Ellie is also a qualified Mat and Reformer Pilates instructor 🧘‍♀️ — a perfect complement to her dance background, helping build the strength, flexibility, and control every performer needs 🩰.

LJ is a triple threat of talent, serving stage presence ✨ and Director brilliance 🎭. Trained in musical theatre at PPA 🎓, they’ve spent their career switching crowns 👑 between performing and directing—bringing stories to life with heart ❤️, humour 😂, and a whole lot of flair.

A proud member of the Queendom 👸 since Six first slayed at the Arts Theatre in 2019 🎶, LJ has been loved ever since. Now, stepping into the director’s throne for a show that champions fierce voices 🔥 and unapologetic storytelling ✍️? LJ is buzzing ⚡️ to lead this royally iconic team and bring Six to the stage with sass, power, and heart 💜.

Casting: It starts with choosing the perfect cast, carefully selecting each actor to bring the characters to life. A small cast brings its own challenges, but it’s what makes our shows so unique and personal.

Costumes: From the very first fitting to the final details, our costume team works tirelessly to ensure each piece is just right. It’s all about small touches that make the experience feel authentic and immersive.

Small Touches for a Big Experience: Every prop, every set detail, every moment is thoughtfully considered to make sure we’re giving the audience something special. It’s the little things that turn a good show into an unforgettable one.

Licensing the Show: Behind the curtain, we’re working with licensing companies to make sure we have the legal rights to produce the show you love. Every detail counts.

Teching the Show: When it’s time for tech rehearsals, we work on lighting, sound, set changes, and making sure every technical aspect supports the story being told on stage.

Audition Prep: And of course, we spend countless hours preparing for auditions, making sure everything runs smoothly, and giving each actor the best chance to shine.

Rehearsal Schedule:
• Two hours per week for the entire term
• Full Sunday rehearsals (you’ll have the weekend to really dive deep!)

During these rehearsals, you’ll be learning everything from choreography to singing harmonies and of course, memorizing your script. It’s going to be an exciting journey, with plenty of challenges and growth along the way.

🎭 What to Expect at an Encore Theatre Productions Audition 🎭

We believe in creating a supportive and efficient audition environment. Here’s what you can expect:
• Small groups: No more than 15 people per hour to ensure each performer gets the attention they deserve.
• Group Dance Call: You’ll start with a fun group dance call to get the energy moving!
• 1:1 Audition: After the group call, you’ll have a one-on-one session where you’ll perform a song and some script from the show—both provided to you in advance.
