Tanya L. Brown Moore
Tanya has over 30 years of experience in the theater. Beginning with set construction and crewing in college, Tanya has continued to be actively involved in community theater in the Fox Valley area. She has experience in set design, production coordination, props design, costume design, and stage management.
Cyndi discovered in college, much to her friend and then-director’s frustration, that she has absolutely zero ability to remember stage direction. Other than that extremely brief foray however, she had no personal experience with theatre in her life until someone said, “Hey, come help me build this set.” Now, after four theaters and forty-five shows behind the scenes, she’s wondering how on earth to fit her new kayak into the garage along with all the props already stored there. A teacher in her ‘spare time,’ Cyndi spends most days trying to convince seventh-graders to save their drama for the stage.
After small beginnings in 1992, this core group of people essentially coalesced into a company in 2002 at Elgin Community College under the name of ECC Musical Theatre. Three unique stages, forty-plus amazing shows, hundreds of talented cast members, and one hard-earned retirement later, we bring you Encore Theatre Productions and “Operation Different Venue.” We have a ‘new’ name, a new partnership with Elgin Academy, a new venue in the Kimball Street Theater, and a new direction, moving beyond just musicals to include all types of community theatre.
Konnie Kay Sherry
Konnie has built a 35-year career in the theater. She is a member of Actors Equity, and was the resident director/choreographer for ECCMT for 17 years.
